Commonsense advice & information for men interested in meeting & marrying a girl from the Philippines

What is this site about? It is a website specifically for Australians which explains the wonderful aspects of marriage between Filipinas (Filipino ladies are referred to as "Filipinas") and "western" men, presented as a source of useful information to help men avoid the mistakes that mainly come from a lack of understanding of a unique Asian culture. Knowledge is power. And knowledge can mean the difference between disappointment and hurt, and a very fulfilling and bright future.

The site is written for Australian men, and always from that perspective.

And please note that this is NOT a marriage service or introduction agency. We cannot and will not find partners for anybody. We only offer advice.

But this is not a simple process. Marriage should be marriage-for-life, therefore this should be the biggest decision you'll ever make. You're choosing your life-partner, and you've chosen for your own reasons to search in a different country and in a culture that's very different from your own. Armed with the right knowledge, this should be the adventure of your life. And the reward can be great.

And as you should intend this to be a marriage for life, make this a lifelong study. I still get confused, and I still fall into some of the same ol' traps, and no doubt you will to. So read, and reflect. TALK to your wife, and LISTEN. Talk and listen with others who have been there before. Read informed books on the subject. The reward will be a happier married life that can only get better with increased knowledge combined with good intentions.

I hope that through this site I can share some of the things I've learned, and if you choose to go down the same path, I hope I can help you to make a great and informed decision for yourself. And I hope I can help you to avoid some of the mistakes and pitfalls that come from a lack of knowledge and experience.

ABOUT US

I married my lovely Filipina wife a number of years ago now, and yes it was the best decision I ever made. I joined the ranks of men who know what it's like to be loved unconditionally, and my wife and I take it in turns to spoil each other rotten! We support each other, and we respect each other. And we both share a commitment to a marriage for life. Mila is not only my wife, but she's also my business partner and my best friend.

We live mostly in Manila, Philippines, and we have three daughters still at home. I'm an Australian Citizen, as well as a Permanent Resident of the Philippines. Mila is an Australian Citizen as well as a Citizen of the Philippines. We run a migration agency business called
Down Under Visa (I'm a Registered Migration Agent, M.A.R.N. 0959797), and it's our job and our pleasure to help couples go down the same path we struggled down unassisted all those years ago. We are Spouse and Fiance Visa specialists.

At this point let it be known and let it be clear that we deplore any thoughts, words, attitudes or concepts of "mail order brides", and we also deplore the exploitation of Filipina women through prostitution or any of it's "acceptable" forms where poor girls are bought and rented in bars and brothels by men from richer countries. We believe in love and marriage and relationships between two people on equal footing who respect each other and do not use, abuse or exploit each other.

Hi Jeff

This is the site that came up on a google search and was how I made the first approach to you. There were many other sites that I looked at and read articles from, but your site gave me a sense of warmth and trust, because I had experienced most of what you talk about. It was because of this that made me think this guy knows what it is all about and he would be a good choice to help me and Greaselie.

I think the site is full of very useful ideas and information. I have been involved with the country and it's people for some five years now and I still find myself learning new things all the time. Reading through the articles that you have sometimes brings a smile to my face in as much as I have experienced most of it first hand and before I had read anything about what happens there, especially from a westerners eyes.

In the early days there was a lot of thoughts of, why the hell would someone want to do it that way, but as you have said, it's a learning curve both ways, and I feel a richer person by adopting these attitudes.

Thanks for your help so far, it's been a pleasure to meet you and Mila.
